Flexibility in network expansion – Raycap presents a new universal splice cassette for fiber management systems.
Garching, Germany 19.05.2023 – From May 23 to 25, the broadband and media distribution industry will meet in Cologne for ANGA COM, Europe’s leading congress for broadband, television, and online. At the trade fair in Hall 8, Stand E22, Raycap, an international manufacturer of products and systems for passive telecommunications infrastructure, will present its fiber cabinets, racks, and a new universal splice cassette for depositing optical fibers.
An essential factor for efficient fiber optic network expansion is flexibility when planning the passive infrastructure. Unlike conventional splice cassettes, where a distinction is made between use as a multi-fiber, single-fiber, or splitter cassette depending on the design, the new universal splice cassette system by Raycap manages them with a single elegant design.
The universal splice cassette combines the particular requirements of single-circuit with those of single-element fiber management and also enables the installation of optical splitters in the same cassette.
Raycap’s new product provides a high degree of flexibility in newly planned fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) networks when designing the splice concept because it allows the ability to interconnect the fibers freely, irrespective of the cassette. In addition, only one cassette type needs to be considered, reducing logistics and simplifying handling during installations while lowering the effort required for operation and network expansions.
In addition to Raycap’s fiber optic network distributors the new universal splice cassette can be used in other telecommunication network nodes. For example, as the splice assembly in the ODF at the central office, as a fiber management cassette in the fiber optic sleeve, or even in multifunction housings as a splice connection for connecting to the backbone cable – the new universal cassette is simply “universal.”
The universal splice cassette complies with the DIN EN IEC 61756-1 standard for single fiber management systems.
In addition to the new universal splice cassette, Raycap will also show its proven ODF series fiber management rack solution. The modular management rack is suitable for fiber optic backbone and access networks and features easy installation and expansion options. In addition, the proven fiber optic network distributors (NVT series) and multifunctional telecom cabinets (MFG series) will also be on display at the booth. These Raycap telecom cabinets are specially designed for outdoor use and made of particularly robust and durable aluminum.
